Claims in Arctic

In order to provide updated and clear information on Arctic, International Boundaries Research Unit (IBRU) in Durham University released a map depicting the status of claims in the Arctic.

The map shows five major polar States: the US, Canada, Norway, Denmark, and Russia and status of each State’s claim in the Arctic. In addition, the map is also accompanied with remarks and explanation concerning the source of data used and method implemented in generating lines on the map. The map also clearly distinguishes the agreed lines and hypothetical ones.

The maps published by IBRU may be considered as the most recent and comprehensive publication concerning status of claims in the Arctic. In addition, it is expected to provide balanced information concerning the recently chaotic issues on the Arctic.

More details about the map published by IBRU can be obtained from IBRU’s website.
