It seems to me that the possibility is really endless with Google. Now, somebody in Google Earth Community comes with a kmz file depicting Exclusive Economic Zone of the world. With this file, one can view the world’s EEZ in either Google Earth or Google Maps. Simply by downloading the file, one can then open it and fly to all places all over the world and see EEZ limits of every single State.
Being in Google Earth, the EEZ can be viewd interactively. The virtual journey from one State to others can be done easily using the available navigator, as well as zooming in and out.
By having this interactive EEZ viewer, it is much easier now to conduct research concerning maritime jurisdiction, especially when one wants to know the status of EEZ claim all over the world or only in certain region. One important thing, users need to be aware that this file shows both hypothetical median line and agreed boundary line between/among States. Therefore, it should be noted that not all the yellow lines depict the aggreed (existing) boundaries. However, as previously mention this is a good stuff and can be used, at least, as a starting point. Download the kmz and enjoy it.
